Once a proposal has been sent by a Freelancer and accepted by a Hirer, the funds for that specific Project will be ‘locked’ in the escrow account. Neither the freelancer nor the hirer can withdraw or change the funds without approval of the other party. However, depending on the Project requirements, the Freelancer may ask for additional funds to be deposited to the escrow account or Hirer can ask for refunds of the whole or some of the funds.
Please note that the Hirer will still have to pay the Freelancer for the work that has already been completed.
As a reminder, all users of our Outsource services will be charged an outsourcing fee of 10% (from your project payment budget). However, if you are requesting a refund because the Freelancer has not fulfilled their commitments, you will not be charged any service fees. Please click here for more details.
